Freetown

Freetown is one of five solar assets owned and operated under the name Mass Solar. A ground mount system over a 40 acre (161,874 square metre) area in the town of Freetown, Massachusetts; the Freetown site has the capacity to generate 5.8 megawatts of renewable energy.

With 19,932 two by one metre solar panels installed, Freetown came on stream in March 2015 and is fully contracted to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, about 17 kilometers north of Freetown.

The site uses Canadian Solar 290 WP modules, Suntech 280/290/295 modules, SMA SC500CP inverters and a Terrasmart mounting system.

Like the other Mass Solar projects, this site is qualified under phase one of the Massachusetts Solar Energy Renewable Credit (SREC-I) program.
