Ada

Ada is a 29-megawatt contracted cogeneration facility located in Ada, Michigan.

The facility has been in operation since 1991, and comprises a single GE LM2500 gas turbine and an ABB steam turbine and produces approximately 50,000 tonnes of steam hourly. The electricity and steam output of the facility are fully contracted providing consistent, predictable revenues through 2026.

The facility is contracted under a long-term power purchase agreement and steam sale agreement.

TransAlta closed the deal to own and operate the Ada facility on May 19, 2020.
