Kingston

The Kingston facility is located near Kingston, Ontario. The facility is a natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant that was commissioned in 1997 to provide efficient and reliable electricity to Ontario’s grid.

Kingston is equipped with a GE 6FA combustion turbine, a Babcock & Wilcox heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), and a GE steam turbine, enabling optimized energy recovery and lower emissions.

Under a Medium-Term 2 IESO capacity contract starting May 1, 2026 and expiring April 30, 2031, Kingston continues to play an important role in delivering dependable, flexible generation to support Ontario’s energy needs.
