TransAlta has ownership in six coal-fired generating plants that deliver reliable, low-cost baseload power to our customers.
Our Canadian coal fleet includes five facilities that are based in Alberta and are mine-mouth operations: Sundance, Keephills, Keephills 3, Genesee 3 and Sheerness. They have a combined capacity of 3,591 MW. TransAlta also owns and operates the Highvale Mine in Alberta and the 1,340 MW Centralia coal-fired power plant in Washington State. Our combined Canadian and U.S. coal fleet contributed $448 million of comparable EBITDA in 2014.
